Visiting Igbesa, Nigeria

On June 27, 2026, members of Wells for Hope traveled to Igbesa, Nigeria, to celebrate the completion and official opening of a new well in the community. As we arrived, the entire village came out to welcome us. Children excitedly gathered around us, laughing, waving, and following us throughout the village. Many of the elderly men and women were among the first to draw water from the newly completed well, greeting us with warm smiles and heartfelt gratitude.

Participating in the well's opening ceremony allowed us to witness firsthand the impact that access to clean water has on a community. Seeing families gather around the new well and watching it immediately become part of daily village life reinforced Wells for Hope's mission of providing reliable access to clean, safe drinking water for underserved communities across Nigeria.
