  • Why join Wells for Hope?
Wells for Hope not only gives community service hours, but our projects actively promote welfare and standards of living for Nigerian Villages by providing them with a clean and accessible water source through the wells we donate.
  • How can I get volunteer hours?
All the hours volunteers dedicate to Wells for Hope are recognized by our partner, KindOne. To log hours, please fill out this form. All logged time can be submitted to earning the Presidential Volunteer Service Award.
  • How can you help?
Through becoming a member or volunteering with Wells for Hope, you join our cause in increasing the accessibility of clean water in Nigeria. Members typically organize fundraisers, increase our outreach, and maintain our website and social media.
  • Where do donations go?
We are partnered with local non-profit organization KindOne and Nigerian non-profit Knights of St. Mulumba (KSM) to make Wells for Hope possible. All donations are handled KindOne, who wires all funds to KSM. KSM is responsible for allocating money to build wells in places that are in need of clean water.
  • Costs of Building
It costs around $2,000 USD to construct a well in Nigeria.
  • How do wells benefit Nigerian Communities?
The typical rural Nigerian community do not have access to clean water. Most people have to travel nearly one or more miles to nearby rivers to collect drinking water. They filter the water themselves in large pots through a process of natural sedimentation. They make this journey for water around twice daily. The wells we donate allow villagers to conveniently obtain water just a couple feel outside their homes.
  • How many people can each well support?
Entire villages of around 200 people benefit from each well we donate,
  • Where will wells be build?
The Knights of St. Mulumba are in charge of determining the location of each well after considering which communities require water wells most urgently.
